Four weeks before Christmas is
Advent. This year, it was started on Nov 24 and will last till Dec 23. During
Advent, the church decor is more dominated by foliage than flowers. Though
there were bit of flowers used, they should be matched with the foliage so we
usually use green hydrangea, bromelia, croton and tri-color. The last two are
actually leaves but have a wide range of colors.
And here’s the decoration in
front of the Altar. The materials are kadaka or asplenium, phillo sellum,
tri-color, fern, leather leaf and those big light purple flowers are not
hydrangea but a kind of that … sorry, don’t know the real name. My friend,
Diana bought them from the seller in front of her house. And this is the first
time we use them. (image below)
Some members of Margriet who were
on duty at that time, quite a lot ya, but there was much work too, since it was
the first advent week so it should be more special than the other weeks.
Besides, though it’s advent there were 3 marriage ceremonies on Sat and Sunday.
So, Margriet still had to prepare the chair and pew decoration, the bouquets
and candle offerings to Mary. (image above)

purple. (image below)
