White on White Wedding Church Décor with Phalaenopsis Sp

Still remember my sketch done by using Samsung Galaxy Note?

Due to the flood in Jakarta a week ago which almost all main roads were under water, the impact was some flowers we ordered in advance could not be sent. The supplier had already apologized and Margriet Team understood as it's a force majeure. However, a quick decision should be made because the four couples were waiting on Sat and Sunday and we didn't want to disappoint them. Substitute flowers should be sought immediately and finally local white phalaenopsis replaced the imported white dendrobium. The chief of Margriet got these beautiful flowers in a nursery house in Cihideung, Lembang, still as potted plants!!  Great, right? And we all agree as much as possible not to cut the flowers. That means we can plant them after the wedding's over and still be able to use them again next time. Good idea, ya...   Yeach, this small incident was just like 'blessing in disguise' to us and we're grateful for this. With creativity, unity and God's help, we all can surely overcome all problems we're facing, even picking good lesson. Right, guys?

As we mentioned above, we substituted fresh cut dendrobium flowers with local white yellow lip Phalaenopsis potted plants. Their beauty's unexpected, right?

This was the sketch we made with the Samsung Note GT-N7000’s memo application as the first design of the flower arrangement in front of Mary statue

And this was the implementation in the real wedding church decor, after some changing. Not much different, wasn’t it?
We’re going to post the step by step tutorial for this elegant white half moon shaped flower arrangement, too. So, keep checking our post ya!!

The decor of the altar seen from the front

The theme was white with a little bit of green. And the materials used were white Phalaenopsis, lilies of Casablanca, roses of Avalance, hydrangea, white carnations and gypsophila. The foliage was philo sellum, anthurium leaves, ruscus and schefflera as filler, to place the empty place.

The altar look from the front left. Look at those beautiful white yellow lip Phalaenopsis. Exquisite!!

The chair & pew décor.

Here we used all white flowers ie poms, chrysant, carnation, daisy and roses of Avalance while the foliage was fern, ruscus and schefflera.

Still with all white flowers, but this time we used lilies of Casablanca, roses of Avalance, carnation and gypsophila. A simple elegant white design!

Flower Today: Chrysanthemum

Chrysanthemum is not a seasonal flower. We can find it as fresh cut flower or potted plant anytime. It has not only many variant colors but also long lasting. Moreover, It's not pricey, too. No wonder lots of florists use it in table centerpieces or other flower arrangements. But it's rarely used as wedding bouquets, especially for Chinese people because this flower is identical as flower for dead people. However it depends on each individual person. Beyond that opini, it's a beautiful flower anyway.

City Life City Garden 2012 (5) : Ultra White Minimalist Garden

This is it!! For those of you who love the super clean minimalist style, this can be your inspiration. J This is an all white garden (except for the plants of course) with the focal point being the white boxes drawn like buildings (4D). They can be used as plant pots or as base for the lighting fixtures.

For those of you who want to add some animal statues to your garden but afraid to ruin the minimalist theme, this wire swan painted in white (4A) can be a reference.

Also noticed the tile (4B), instead of the boring square tile, you might want to try cut them into triangles, then pour some gravels between them, it will break the monotonous white theme, but still look minimalist.

For the plants, to support the white minimalist theme, choose plants and flowers in pale pastel colors, as seen here, no bold colors for the flowers. Don’t forget to put some hidden lamps behind the pots. Lovely!!!!

Okay, from all those garden installation at City Life City Garden 2012, these four posts are the ones that we think are the best 4. So, we sincerely hope these can be your garden inspirations, especially for a mini gardens. However, we’re not done with this expo yet, since we haven’t share with you’re the flower and plants market, so, just wait and see…

White Salmon Church Decor

A salmon theme church decor? We rarely use this color in our wedding church décor since it’s not only not one of the favorite color for the brides but also hardly found at the flower markets in Bandung. So, no wonder when one of the coordinator of the Margriet finally found it, without hesitation she immediately bought some.  For those who are waiting for this salmon color, this post is dedicated just to you.

It’s the flower arrangement in front of the altar. The design is simple but unique, it’s a combination  between the vertical and horizontal . The flowers used are lilies Casablanca, roses of avalance, yellow snapdragon and salmon carnations while the foliage is caladium, green cordyline, dracaena and silver dollar or eucalyptus leaves.

The flower arrangement in front of the psalmist table.

t’s a waterfall shape. Look at the eucalyptus leaf which is dangling down. Beautiful!!

Cascade Pink Bouquet

This time we're posting a cascade stargazer lily bouquet. It’s using a little bit more kinds of flowers, so it can also be catagorized as tropical multi color, whatever it is, it looks beautiful. Right?

The flowers used are white Dendrobium, lilies Stargazer, roses of Belavitae, Queen Mary, Sexy Red, and Gypsophila

The bouquet and its matching candle offering to Mary. Red-fuschia-pink-white-green, it was such a perfect color combination, wasn't it?

Close-up of the bouquet.

Lily flower always looks beautiful, but if you forget to cut its stamens, they'll leave stain which not easily removed. Overall this bouquet is nice unless the stain on the lily stargazer!!

Flower Design : White on White Wedding Church Decor

Hi, everyone!!! Enjoying your weekend? We too J….. This weekend will be another flower arranging day which is why I’m so excited.

Actually a couple months ago I had this idea, not just to share the finished wedding church decoration but also to tell the process of designing the wedding décor. However the process of sketching (on papers), scanning and editing is a bit too much for me (lazy.. lazy.. ) so the idea went on hiatus until I got my new toy : the Samsung GalaxyNote J

Hoho, with the Samsung Note memo application, it’s quite easy to sketch a flower arrangement, move the file to my laptop and uploaded them to flowerdeily. And thus begin to our new category …the Flower Design post. These posts will consist of my sketch of the flower arrangements and later will be continued with post about the finished products of the Wedding Flower arrangements. It’s still on trial and hopefully this series can go on…( pray I’m not in lazy mood). Our very first flower design post in 2013 will be 'A White on White Wedding Church Decoration'.

The color palette will be white on white whit just a touch of green. I’d like to make an elegant white half moon shaped flower arrangement. So here’s my first design, I want it  a bit different from the usual I did but still not cross the line from the Liturgy rules, so I chose half moon shape with the focus on top and a bit drapery beneath. And the flowers needed are white dendrobium, white snapdragon, lilies of Casablanca, roses of Avalanche, hydrangea, shamrock and green amaranthus. Most flowers placed in group and only a bit spreading.

Of course, a Plan A will not be complete without a Plan B, just in case some flowers not available, I’m going to make an oval or convex shape but this one in European style, so lots of flowers will be placed in spreading. The flowers needed are almost the same, only some changed with lysianthus and fiji
So far, that’s it for the plan and how this sketch will be implemented in the real wedding flower arrangements, we’ll keep you updated!

Lily Fushia Wedding Bouquet

Now it’s time for a wedding bouquet and this time it’s a cascade Lily Fuschia Wedding Bouquet. Not many kinds of flowers used here, only lilies, roses and baby’s breath while the foliage is ivy, ruscus and cordyline. The flower designer is Mrs. Helena for Thata’s wedding on Dec 2, 2012. You can also view more ideas on fuschia color bridal bouquet here

She also used the middle part of the cordyline to make half circle on the bouquet that gives a different texture to the bouquet. Beautiful.

Purple Pink Elegant Wedding Décor (Part 2)

Still with our Margriet friend’s daughter marriage. Now, the flower arrangements at the bride’s chairs. The model is oval and they’re bigger than the usual ones we make. And the flowers used are pink carnations, lilies Stargazer, roses of Queen Mary, Universe, Avalanche, purple fiji, hot pink gerbera and baby’s breath.

The flower arrangement in front of the psalmist table. It has a waterfall style or looks like  cascade model.  Since it is placed at the front which is the nearest place to the congregation, so it should be able to be seen well from different point of view ie from the left or right side of the congregation seats. And this one is just perfect.

This is the flower arrangement in front of the Jesus statue which is the mirror to the Mary.  The model is vegetatif  modified with waterfall style at the bottom. Look at the two big anthurium leaves on top, they look like wanna to protect the flowers beneath them. And the usage of sprengeri leaves and hot pink gerbera dangling down make it looks natural and flows just like waterfall.

The unity candle flower arrangement.  Hopefully it can unite their love forever. Amen.

The last image was the flower arrangement at the seven candle stand and the décor of the rosary, cross and Bible tray.

It's up for today, and if you're still hunting for ideas you can view more on our glamorous wedding church decor !.

Purple Pink Elegant Wedding Church Décor (Part 1)

Back to our favourite wedding church décor post. This time it’s special for us, since it’s a wedding décor for one of our Margriet friends. Her lovely daughter, Thata, got married so most of Margriet team worked hard to help her decorate the church.

The color pallete for this décor is purple, fuschia, soft pink, green and white

Around 20 standing flowers arrangements for the aisle had to be made, not to mention the unity candle arrangement placed beside the altar, the cross, bible & rosary tray and the usual flowers arrangements made inside the church such as the one in front of the altar, the psalmist table, Mary & Jesus statues and some small arrangements ie. 7 candle stand, bouquet & candle offerings to Mary, table centerpiece for the guest etc. so Margriet team worked continuously for 2 days…..

Here’s the close up look on the flower arrangements in front of the altar. For this, we use lilies Stargazer & Alur, roses of Esperance, Dolce, Queen Mary, Universe, purple fiji, pink gerbera, pink snapdragon, baby’s breath etc…. hmm quite a lot ya.

And here’s the standing flower arrangements along the church aisle … so colorful and all around full of flowers. Gorgeous, right?

To be continued in part 2

Home Decor Ideas by Eunice Teo (3) : A Simple Table Centerpiece with Crystal Accent

A little break on the bridal bouquet post series, yes… just to remind you all that we do have a home & décor section here on flowerdeily, so let’s check out this simple flower table centerpiece designed by Eunice Teo, AIFD

This time, she used a tall cocktail glass as a vase, yellow color foam and lots of crystal beads. Though the use of crystal beads usually tends impress glamorous and modern, she did the flower arranging in minimalist way by using not much flowers and leaves. And the white snapdragon and cordylines applied the horizontal design perfectly.

On closer look, not just crystal beads, she also used butterfly shaped crystal as a focal point on this table centerpiece.

And here’s a close up detail of the crystal beads swirled on the bottom of the transparent vase. Lovely!

Yep, next post on this series, we’ll be back with the bridal bouquet post. Keep on checking J

Tips:
When using color foam, it would be better if you just let it what it is. Do not cover the foam. It will make your design look different but do not forget to soak the foam before you use it, ya.
And so is with the accessories, you must know what you use so it can be beautiful on your design.
