IPBI DPC Bandung Held a Street Flower Demo
Flowers at a wedding venue?
That’s usual…
Flowers on your dining table?
Already seen often…
Flowers on bicycle? Huh..??
Yep, no kidding, those are
real flower arrangements, on a bike!!!
How did that flower arrangement
get on the bike? The story went back on a text message a couple days ago,
announcing that there will be an IPBI flower event on CFD (Car Free Day) Dago this 21st, celebrating
Kartini Day. For me personally, CFD is no longer that attractive cause it’s
getting more and more like Gasibu on a weekend now, however on a flower event, Flowerdeily will be there!!!!
So… this flower event is a
collaboration between IPBI and NGN, or Nu Gareulis Ngagowes …(love this name J
!!!...) and since this is a cycling community combined with flower arranging
demo, the result is flower on bicycle. Here Mrs. Winny explaining the name of the flower (lilium of Casablanca ) and its color
available in the market.
Just flower on bike? Noooo…the
demo continued on a table centerpiece demo.
Back on the bike theme, you can also
put flower on your hat too (in case flowers on your bike is not your interest).
There’s more...this time a demo
on flower bouquet by Miss Renny and Mrs. Winny.
Reni’s making the round hand bouquet which consisting of pink roses, each of them wrapped with cellophane first.
You can say she’s a pro since
less than 30 minutes the rose bouquet already wrapped by pink plaid of burlap.
What a beautiful round bouquet! Good job.
Back on Mrs. Winny, she’s making
her signature cascade shaped bouquet with two tone wrapping paper, she made a
similar bouquet on a flower demo at Hero supermarket before but this time she’s
using scorpion orchids (arachnis ‘Maggie Oie’) and roses.
And the lucky one who received
the beautiful flower bouquet is the chief of NGN.

Wedding Hand Bouquet Competition by IPBI @ Landmark Bandung
Heya guys!!! Lenten
Season is over so we’re all gearing up towards the wedding season again J…. As a start, here’s
a wedding hand bouquet competition one week ago in which yours truly also
participated ..eheheh…yup, after my first competition it’s time for a new
challenge…*fighting!!!*
This competition was
organized by IPBI Bandung which managed to round a total of 16 contestants, however
1 contestant didn’t show up. Half an hour before started up, me and litl’ Flo had arrived at Landmark Building . Quite a heavy baggage since we brought the tools and also
water bucket, not knowing that the committee provided water buckets at the site…
This was before start up pic, you might think that we’re lazing
around, however this was because this competition used mysterious materials.
They didn’t tell us which type of flowers were going to be used and we also
could not bring anything other than tools. All flowers, holders and accessories
were provided at the site so we waaiited….patiently…...
And Tadaaa…. 5 minutes before starting, the flowers and
accessories finally arrived. This time we had to make one wedding hand bouquet
using: roses, anthurium, carnation, baby breath, ruscus, aspidistra and ming
fern or asparagus umbellatus *hosh hosh* and for the accessories we were given:
satin ribbon, floral wire, copper wire and some red beads. That’s it guys, so
let us begin!!!
We only had one hour so
everyone was rush…rush…
Some took their time…
Some worked in lightning
pace…
And for me, I took my time
:) …
Not just for
challenge, a competition also means networking and this time I was fortunate to
make 2 new acquaintances, one is Ivani (number 2 is her creation) and Eny (the
one on the right is hers). Nice to meet you guys!!
One hour flew fast and suddenly it’s a judging
time!!! They said judging would be based on creativity, proportion,
composition, mechanical and of course, cleanliness….Here are all the
contestants' creations…All of them were great!!! This time it's a quite tough
competition
After a judging time
it’s waiting time…it took 3 hours until the announcement *aaargh* and featured
here is the 3rd winner, contestant number 15.
Contestant number 13 as the 2nd
winner and number 14 as 'Harapan 1' winner
And here it is…the 1st winner is by contestant number 12…which is yours
truly!!!!…*woohoo*
The side view of my winning
creation…Honestly I didn’t expect it at all since I even forgot to open my baby
breath package till the last 5 minutes (too panicked) but the MC said my number
on the stage and suddenly my friends hugging me…Thanks guys and also many
thanks to IPBI Bandung, too!!!!
For all of you my readers, I hope this post can
be useful in case you’re looking for a wedding hand bouquet right now…Ciao!!!
Almost forgot....here's the
trophy :))

Marriage at The Salib Suci Church
On April 6th, 2013 I
went to the ‘Salib Suci’ church to attend my friend’s son of marriage there.
The church is located on 25
Kemuning street , so it’s also popular in Bandung as the church of
‘Kemuning’. And while I was there, I had the opportunity to look around the
church decor. And here's the overview report. Let's have a look ...
This is the candle decor for
Easter 2013 at 'Salib Suci' church. Look white and pure. ... so great,
amazingly!
This is the tower of 'Salib Suci'
church. The building belongs to the ancient church and it's quite well
maintained.
The
atmosphere when the bride and groom prayed and gave flowers offerings to Mary.

Easter Church Décor 2013
Here’s the church décor at St.
Peter Cathedral Bandung on Sunday Easter, March 31st, 2013.
Some
materials we seldom use are sun flowers, cigar flowers and calathea flowers or
here it’s famous as ‘bunga uler-uleran’ which has a unique look.
The other materials used are
lilium of ‘Kongkadon’, roses, chrysanthemum … etc.
The members of Margriet who got
duty to décor the church wall décor, lead by Mrs. Diana.
Here’s the altar décor taken from
the right side angle of view.
And this is the flower
arrangement in front of the Easter Candle 2013.

table

placed in front of the twin Angel statue. We also have the tutorial how to make
it here.
And here's the church wall decor
for Easter 2013. We had to make 14 pieces of these. Two big ones were placed on
the wall at the front, 2 at the back and 5 pieces each at the left & right
side wall. If you’re curious to know how to make it, just click here.
