Church Decor for The Feast of Pentecost

It’s the atmosphere in the church of St. Peter Cathedral Bandung during the morning mass of Pentecost,
 May 19, 2013.

The color of the liturgy for the Pentecost is red. And these are what to décor for the feast of Pentecost in St. Peter Cathedral Bandung, first the Altar, second the Ambo or the psalmist table, the Jesus & Mary statue, the both Angel statues placed at the back. And do not forget to décor the seven chandeliers because they will be lit during the mass by one of the deacon. It was put on the table in front of the Big Easter candle which placed beside the Altar.

Here it is the Altar. The materials used are heliconia Wagneria & Bihai, anthurium Valentino, roses of Avalance & Mohana, Lily Kongkadon and hydrangea. The foliage is dracaena, sprengeri, anthurium leaves, caladium variegate and philodendron.

The two angels were occasionally decorated, such as today's. It's using a kind of vegetatif style.

Bright Tropical Wedding Décor Ideas

Another tropical theme wedding church décor is on the way .... It’s always refreshing to see this theme since it stresses the use of local exotic flowers. Enjoy!!!

The finished pew and chairs decor lined up along the aisle

Flower arranging for wedding is always tiring, but when seeing the final result we always felt a happy rush J

How the flower arrangements looked like from the side and on close up

This time the dominant color is orange with the use of heliconia, lily oriental Casa Blanca, roses of Mohana and Aleandra. The foliage is philo sellum, caladium, ivy and SOI (song of india) leaves which generously put at the front.

Don’t forget the flower arrangements beside the Mary statue and on the candelabra

And here’s the detail on flower decoration at the bridal chairs. We made the flower arrangements look a bit bigger with the use of dracaena leaves.

Lastly, the ones in front of the psalmist table and on the Jesus statue. Wait for our next post. J.

White – Yellow Theme Wedding Church Décor on Advent

As we mentioned before, during Advent there were still marriage ceremonies at the Cathedral St. Peter. Therefore, Margriet team should have to prepare the decor for them too. And this was some of the pictures we documented.

Some of the materials used are golden heliconia, cigar flowers, roses of Mohana, and peacock.

Church Décor: Tropical Red

The flower arrangement this time was a bit different. We didn’t use the usual iron flower stand but the wooden containers. Actually they're from packing crates that are not used anymore. They're placed in triple different level.

The altar viewed from the front

The close up look flower arrangement at the altar.
The materials used for altar were white lilies, casablanca, roses, gerbera, heliconia sp, hydrangea, baby's breath and the foliage was philo, dracaena and leather leaves.

The flower arrangement in front of psalmist altar. It was designed symmetrical. Beautiful, right?

The flower arrangement in front of Jesus statue. For this arrangement the wooden containers used were only 2 (one placed as a base and the other placed above) and so was the flower arrangement in front of Mary statue which was its mirror.

Wedding Church Décor: White Lilies

Okay, after our post on pink lily wedding décor, now is the time to reveal our white lily wedding décor… mmmm… wait a minute… I don’t see any lily here….

Tadaaa!!! Here’s the lilies….. the first image is the church aisle flower arrangements, in which lilies doesn’t suit in small flower arrangements like that, however for the main altar, we used white lilies, snapdragon, roses, hydrangea, ivy and SOI leaves.

Wedding Church Decor: Red Tropical for Pentecost

Red is the liturgical color for this day, so for Pentecost this year we also decided to choose red tropical color  combined with other bold color such as orange and yellow. The materials used are heliconia or we call  it as 'Pisang Bugis', anthurium, roses, gerberas, daisies, green puma and a bit of baby's breath only for wedding ceremony decor such as hand bouquet, candle, chair and pew decoration.

This was the flower arrangement in front of the angel which placed on the right and left side of the sacristy table. We decorate the back of altar area only at big events such as Christmas, easter, Pentecost etc so not every week we have a chance to decorate the twin angels.

Because there was a ceremony of marriage a day before the Pentecost, so we also had to make decoration for the wedding ceremony such as these chairs and pews. The image below was the close-up of chairs and pews.

Overall view from front of the altar during the ceremony of marriage (image above) and an up close look of the altar (image below)

The flower arrangement in front of the Jesus statue (image above) and the seven candle stand which placed in front of Maria statue when the ceremony of the marriage (image below)

The bouquet and candle for bride and groom only consisted of red roses as the request of the bride so we only added the baby's breath to make them look brighter when photographed. The Bible-Cross-Rosary tray (image below).
