White on White Wedding Church Décor with Phalaenopsis Sp

Still remember my sketch done by using Samsung Galaxy Note?

Due to the flood in Jakarta a week ago which almost all main roads were under water, the impact was some flowers we ordered in advance could not be sent. The supplier had already apologized and Margriet Team understood as it's a force majeure. However, a quick decision should be made because the four couples were waiting on Sat and Sunday and we didn't want to disappoint them. Substitute flowers should be sought immediately and finally local white phalaenopsis replaced the imported white dendrobium. The chief of Margriet got these beautiful flowers in a nursery house in Cihideung, Lembang, still as potted plants!!  Great, right? And we all agree as much as possible not to cut the flowers. That means we can plant them after the wedding's over and still be able to use them again next time. Good idea, ya...   Yeach, this small incident was just like 'blessing in disguise' to us and we're grateful for this. With creativity, unity and God's help, we all can surely overcome all problems we're facing, even picking good lesson. Right, guys?

As we mentioned above, we substituted fresh cut dendrobium flowers with local white yellow lip Phalaenopsis potted plants. Their beauty's unexpected, right?

This was the sketch we made with the Samsung Note GT-N7000’s memo application as the first design of the flower arrangement in front of Mary statue

And this was the implementation in the real wedding church decor, after some changing. Not much different, wasn’t it?
We’re going to post the step by step tutorial for this elegant white half moon shaped flower arrangement, too. So, keep checking our post ya!!

The decor of the altar seen from the front

The theme was white with a little bit of green. And the materials used were white Phalaenopsis, lilies of Casablanca, roses of Avalance, hydrangea, white carnations and gypsophila. The foliage was philo sellum, anthurium leaves, ruscus and schefflera as filler, to place the empty place.

The altar look from the front left. Look at those beautiful white yellow lip Phalaenopsis. Exquisite!!

The chair & pew décor.

Here we used all white flowers ie poms, chrysant, carnation, daisy and roses of Avalance while the foliage was fern, ruscus and schefflera.

Still with all white flowers, but this time we used lilies of Casablanca, roses of Avalance, carnation and gypsophila. A simple elegant white design!

White Salmon Church Decor

A salmon theme church decor? We rarely use this color in our wedding church décor since it’s not only not one of the favorite color for the brides but also hardly found at the flower markets in Bandung. So, no wonder when one of the coordinator of the Margriet finally found it, without hesitation she immediately bought some.  For those who are waiting for this salmon color, this post is dedicated just to you.

It’s the flower arrangement in front of the altar. The design is simple but unique, it’s a combination  between the vertical and horizontal . The flowers used are lilies Casablanca, roses of avalance, yellow snapdragon and salmon carnations while the foliage is caladium, green cordyline, dracaena and silver dollar or eucalyptus leaves.

t’s a waterfall shape. Look at the eucalyptus leaf which is dangling down. Beautiful!!

Tutorial: How to Make A Standing Flower Arrangement

Wedding Church Decor doesn't look luxurious without row of standing flower arrangement along the aisle, as if they lead the couple headed to the altar. Those flowers also spread fragrant around it. It’s such a nice fragrance that could bring sweet memories of those who are attending of their youth.

The standing flower arrangements were lining along the aisle seen from the balcony. Looks amazing ya!! (image top left) and when taken from the front door (image bottom right)

Wondering how to make a standing flower arrangement like the one above? Actually it’s quite easy but you have to do it neatly and thoroughly. This time we are going to implement the ‘American Style’ by using grouping technique (though not totally) which means that the flowers were placed in group, but not for the foliage. The leaves were still spreading (European characteristic). Since the theme was ‘all white’, only a little bit green then the flowers we chose  were mostly white such as Casablanca, roses of Avalance’, chrysant-salju, shamrock, white spray carnation, white pom-pom or Billy button flower, baby’s breath and the foliage was philodendron (in medium and small size), ruscus and leather leaf. So, wanna try???

This is how to make a standing flower arrangement step by step:
1.                  Prepare the iron flower stand, then put the wet floral foam (cut into half) on it. After that strengthen it by using wire or plastic rope.
2.                  Decide where you’ll put the tulle white ribbon. Use this as the front side of the flower arrangement, where you put the focus of the flower.
3.                  Then ready to arrange the flowers now. First place 3 stems of philodendron (size M) in the form of triangle. Then place the leather leaf between them so that it’ll look circle now. After that take 5 stems of small sized philo leaf then arrange them above around the top.
4.                  Take 9 stems of chrysant – salju, cut into 20 – 25 cm length each. Then place them by using grouping technique in 3 points so as to form a triangle. Each group contains of 3 stems.
Take 12 stems of roses. Do the same steps just like number 4, but put the other 3 stems of roses at the top.
 .

1.                 Up to this stage, this is what it looks from the above. The shape should be round, otherwise there must be wrong with the way you cut. You might not cut the stems in the same length or not place the flower into the same depth.
2.            Then take 9 stems of shamrock, white poms and spray carnation. Set them all to fill the empty spaces so that it looks full and dense. Do this by using grouping technique.
3.            If there is still empty space, fill it with ruscus leaf, cut the leaves a bit shorter than the flowers. Finally place the Casablanca at the front, then spread the baby’s breath around the flower arrangement.
4.                  Finish. This is how it looks when it was put at the aisle.

Ok guys, have a nice try!!!

Wedding Church Décor: White Theme

We’re a little bit busy a few days ago and so was Margriet team. Last weekend, there were 4 couples who got wedding ceremony at St. Peter Cathedral Bandung on Saturday and one couple on Sunday.  Since the church is still being repainted and the sacristy room is covered with white cloth, so Margriet had to make 2 big flower arrangements to be placed at the back of the altar so that the background wouldn’t look empty. As usual we made flower arrangements for the altar, the psalmist table, the Mary & Jesus Statue, the 7 candle stand and 14 pieces of chair and pew decoration for Saturday, not to mention 4 bouquets & candle arrangements for the bride and grooms. But this time was more special, because we also prepared 20 pieces standing flower arrangements for the aisle on Sunday. So, you can imagine, how luxurious the church was last week. Though felt very exhausted after all of those activities, Margriet team was happy to have been fulfill the request of the bride & groom.

No long-winded anymore, please enjoy the pictures below, hopefully they're useful and inspiring those who are going to be married in the near future. This time it's all white theme, only a little bit green here and there.

Overall look of the inside church of St. Peter Cathedral, Bdg (image above), the view from the balcony (middle image) and from the left front side. Look at the row of standing flower arrangements placed at the aisle. Fantastic, right?

The altar viewed from the left front side (image above) and the up-close look (image below)

The material used were casablanca, snapdragon, roses, gerberas, angel anthurium, spray carnation, chrysant - salju, peacock, baby’s breath and imported lisianthus only for the altar. They are all white, only a little bit of green color such as hydrangea, shamrock and amaranthus, and of course the foliage ie philodendron,  ruscus, green dracaena, green cordyline and leather leaves. The roses we needed were mostly white such as roses of Avalance (pure white) and Ilios (white with a bit of green on the edge of their petals), but we also bought two bunches of Mohana and Voodoo Roses, the previous is yellow and the last one is orange, to make 2 bouquets at the request of two of the bride

Ok, that’s it for the moment. We’re going to meet you again with another lux wedding church décor as there will be 4 couples at this weekend too. See ya!!

Church Décor: Tropical White

Howdy, after a ten day off we all feel fresh and are ready with our work again.  Since most of Indonesian people are still in the holy feast of Idul Fitri, we start our posting with all white church décor, that as white as the hearts of Indonesian after finishing the whole month of fasting.

The materials used for this moment were mostly white except the hydrangea and the foliage which could make the overall look not monotonous. The flowers were white roses, white snapdragon, white lilies, white calla lilies, and hydrangea while the foliage was philodendron, ivy, ruscus and leather leaf. The white rose and lilies look gorgeous, don’t they?

The altar viewed from the front (image above), and the close-up look of the altar (image above). Look at the white calla lilies which beautifully hanging down as well as the ivy. They gave the impression of natural look.

Actually the flower arrangement in front of the psalmist table looked a bit pale, that’s why the decorator used quite a lot of foliage to balance the white color. And it works, doesn’t it?

Like the flower arrangement in front of the psalmist, the one in front of Jesus statue was just the same, the green foliage gave the brighter appearance on the all white design.

Wedding Church Décor: White Lilies

Okay, after our post on pink lily wedding décor, now is the time to reveal our white lily wedding décor… mmmm… wait a minute… I don’t see any lily here….

Tadaaa!!! Here’s the lilies….. the first image is the church aisle flower arrangements, in which lilies doesn’t suit in small flower arrangements like that, however for the main altar, we used white lilies, snapdragon, roses, hydrangea, ivy and SOI leaves.

Wedding Church Décor: White-Green Theme

A pure all white wedding is classic for sure, but sometimes it’s just too common. To make it look different, why don't you try to put a little different colour in it, such as green? This main altar centerpiece for instance, from afar the overall theme is simple elegant white, right?

But when you look at a bit closer, the flower arrangement actually consisted of a number of other color such as light pink, light yellow and quite a lot of green so when the guests saw them, the decor would not be just plain white.

These are some of the flowers that we used on this white-green theme wedding décor, such as snapdragon, lilies, roses, anthurium, shamrock, chrysants, baby's breath and spray carnations while the foliage is phylo sellum, dracaena reflexa and cordyline leaf.

First of all sorry for the blurry picture, but you can still see the white lily as the main focus in this flower arrangements in front of the psalmist. However, a little bit of yellow roses here and there actually won’t destroy the theme.

And last, here’s the close up look of the flower arrangements in front of Jesus and Mary statues. In here, the yellow and green colored flowers were put almost at the bottom, while all upper flowers were white. Nice, wasn't it? So even if you want a white theme wedding décor, don’t limit yourself with just white color. a little combination won’t hurt and it actually will make the décor look more alive.

Thanks for reading and see you in another wedding décor post!!!!

Wedding Church Décor: A White and Pink Theme

We’re baaack!!! As promised, here’s another wedding flower décor done in white-pink theme. These one's a bit posh and certainly more expensive. You might remember the flower arrangements pictured above from my last post. Yes, this is how their up close look with a white tulle ribbon added underneath. A total of 20 flowers stands were lining on the church aisle that day (11-11-2011). As you can see we used quite a number of flower types such as lily Sorbone, Universe roses, Belavitae roses, Avalance roses, spray carnation, hydrangea, chrysants, local baby's breath, ruscus and ivy.

From the church’s entrance, here are how all the flowers stands look like lining up on the church aisle all the way to the bridal chair (see picture below). Yes, lots of flowers really brighten up the aisle and not to mention exuding lots of sweet scent from the flowers. But don’t forget these flower arrangements cost more than usual, hee..hee..

If you turn around, this is how the row of the flower arrangements look like from the front aisle. And the picture below showed how all of the flower arrangements look from upfront. More than usual, since there were 2 air conditioners put inside the church that day, we made extra two flower arrangements in front of them.

As you can see, here’s a more close up view of the front and side part of the flower arrangements in front of the main altar. Just look at those imported baby's breath hanging down beautifully.

Now the flower arrangement number 2 is the one in front of the Jesus statue, the mirrored version with the one in front of the Mary statue. These cute flower arrangements are in triangle form, with white snapdragon on top and amaranthus hanging underneath.  Look at the pictures below them to see a more close up detail on the flower arrangements and the other one at the seven fingers candelabra.

The flower arrangement number 5, is the one which attached to the wedding chairs also use more various flowers than the usual. It almost looked like a hand bouquet, right? Personally, I really love the colour combination. For this arrangement, we used anthurium, Sorbone lilies, Universe roses, Belavitae roses, Avalance roses, snapdragon, spray carnation, leather leaf, ruscus.
And the pictures below are the detail of the flower arrangements in front of the air conditioners and the psalmist altar… Lovely.
So, what do you think? We really hope this can be another inspiration for you who wants a white and pink theme wedding. For another colour theme, we'll post another time, real soon.
