Marriage at The Salib Suci Church

On April 6th, 2013 I went to the ‘Salib Suci’ church to attend my friend’s son of marriage there. The church is located on 25 Kemuning street, so it’s also popular in Bandung as the church of ‘Kemuning’. And while I was there, I had the opportunity to look around the church decor. And here's the overview report. Let's have a look ...

White on White Wedding Church Décor with Phalaenopsis Sp

Still remember my sketch done by using Samsung Galaxy Note?

Due to the flood in Jakarta a week ago which almost all main roads were under water, the impact was some flowers we ordered in advance could not be sent. The supplier had already apologized and Margriet Team understood as it's a force majeure. However, a quick decision should be made because the four couples were waiting on Sat and Sunday and we didn't want to disappoint them. Substitute flowers should be sought immediately and finally local white phalaenopsis replaced the imported white dendrobium. The chief of Margriet got these beautiful flowers in a nursery house in Cihideung, Lembang, still as potted plants!!  Great, right? And we all agree as much as possible not to cut the flowers. That means we can plant them after the wedding's over and still be able to use them again next time. Good idea, ya...   Yeach, this small incident was just like 'blessing in disguise' to us and we're grateful for this. With creativity, unity and God's help, we all can surely overcome all problems we're facing, even picking good lesson. Right, guys?

As we mentioned above, we substituted fresh cut dendrobium flowers with local white yellow lip Phalaenopsis potted plants. Their beauty's unexpected, right?

This was the sketch we made with the Samsung Note GT-N7000’s memo application as the first design of the flower arrangement in front of Mary statue

And this was the implementation in the real wedding church decor, after some changing. Not much different, wasn’t it?
We’re going to post the step by step tutorial for this elegant white half moon shaped flower arrangement, too. So, keep checking our post ya!!

The rows of chair and pew decoration along the aisle

The decor of the altar seen from the front

The theme was white with a little bit of green. And the materials used were white Phalaenopsis, lilies of Casablanca, roses of Avalance, hydrangea, white carnations and gypsophila. The foliage was philo sellum, anthurium leaves, ruscus and schefflera as filler, to place the empty place.

The altar look from the front left. Look at those beautiful white yellow lip Phalaenopsis. Exquisite!!

The chair & pew décor.

Here we used all white flowers ie poms, chrysant, carnation, daisy and roses of Avalance while the foliage was fern, ruscus and schefflera.

The décor of the brides chairs.

Still with all white flowers, but this time we used lilies of Casablanca, roses of Avalance, carnation and gypsophila. A simple elegant white design!

Wuih… hopefully this complete white theme church décor will fulfill the desire of those who’re looking for and really fond of white theme.

Wedding Church Decor: White - Yellow

We’re back on the wedding church décor. And now it’s a white – yellow theme.

Look at these lilies oriental Casablanca which combined with anthurium Angel. They look so white and pure. And perfect shape, too. Right?

The flowers used are lilies oriental Casablanca, anthurium of Angel, roses of Avalance, Universe, Mohana, white snapdragon, hydrangea, white carnations and gypsophila while the foliage is ivy, phillo sellum and leather leaf. The lilies are the focus here, if rose will be the main flower for your wedding, you can view some real decoration sample here

White Salmon Church Decor

A salmon theme church decor? We rarely use this color in our wedding church décor since it’s not only not one of the favorite color for the brides but also hardly found at the flower markets in Bandung. So, no wonder when one of the coordinator of the Margriet finally found it, without hesitation she immediately bought some.  For those who are waiting for this salmon color, this post is dedicated just to you.

It’s the flower arrangement in front of the altar. The design is simple but unique, it’s a combination  between the vertical and horizontal . The flowers used are lilies Casablanca, roses of avalance, yellow snapdragon and salmon carnations while the foliage is caladium, green cordyline, dracaena and silver dollar or eucalyptus leaves.

t’s a waterfall shape. Look at the eucalyptus leaf which is dangling down. Beautiful!!

Purple Pink Elegant Wedding Décor (Part 2)

Still with our Margriet friend’s daughter marriage. Now, the flower arrangements at the bride’s chairs. The model is oval and they’re bigger than the usual ones we make. And the flowers used are pink carnations, lilies Stargazer, roses of Queen Mary, Universe, Avalanche, purple fiji, hot pink gerbera and baby’s breath.

The flower arrangement in front of the psalmist table. It has a waterfall style or looks like  cascade model.  Since it is placed at the front which is the nearest place to the congregation, so it should be able to be seen well from different point of view ie from the left or right side of the congregation seats. And this one is just perfect.

This is the flower arrangement in front of the Jesus statue which is the mirror to the Mary.  The model is vegetatif  modified with waterfall style at the bottom. Look at the two big anthurium leaves on top, they look like wanna to protect the flowers beneath them. And the usage of sprengeri leaves and hot pink gerbera dangling down make it looks natural and flows just like waterfall.

The unity candle flower arrangement.  Hopefully it can unite their love forever. Amen.

The last image was the flower arrangement at the seven candle stand and the décor of the rosary, cross and Bible tray.

It's up for today, and if you're still hunting for ideas you can view more on our glamorous wedding church decor !.

Purple Pink Elegant Wedding Church Décor (Part 1)

Back to our favourite wedding church décor post. This time it’s special for us, since it’s a wedding décor for one of our Margriet friends. Her lovely daughter, Thata, got married so most of Margriet team worked hard to help her decorate the church.

The color pallete for this décor is purple, fuschia, soft pink, green and white

Around 20 standing flowers arrangements for the aisle had to be made, not to mention the unity candle arrangement placed beside the altar, the cross, bible & rosary tray and the usual flowers arrangements made inside the church such as the one in front of the altar, the psalmist table, Mary & Jesus statues and some small arrangements ie. 7 candle stand, bouquet & candle offerings to Mary, table centerpiece for the guest etc. so Margriet team worked continuously for 2 days…..

Here’s the close up look on the flower arrangements in front of the altar. For this, we use lilies Stargazer & Alur, roses of Esperance, Dolce, Queen Mary, Universe, purple fiji, pink gerbera, pink snapdragon, baby’s breath etc…. hmm quite a lot ya.

And here’s the standing flower arrangements along the church aisle … so colorful and all around full of flowers. Gorgeous, right?

To be continued in part 2

Bright Tropical Wedding Décor Ideas

Another tropical theme wedding church décor is on the way .... It’s always refreshing to see this theme since it stresses the use of local exotic flowers. Enjoy!!!

The finished pew and chairs decor lined up along the aisle

Flower arranging for wedding is always tiring, but when seeing the final result we always felt a happy rush J

How the flower arrangements looked like from the side and on close up

This time the dominant color is orange with the use of heliconia, lily oriental Casa Blanca, roses of Mohana and Aleandra. The foliage is philo sellum, caladium, ivy and SOI (song of india) leaves which generously put at the front.

Don’t forget the flower arrangements beside the Mary statue and on the candelabra

And here’s the detail on flower decoration at the bridal chairs. We made the flower arrangements look a bit bigger with the use of dracaena leaves.

Lastly, the ones in front of the psalmist table and on the Jesus statue. Wait for our next post. J.

White – Yellow Theme Wedding Church Décor on Advent

As we mentioned before, during Advent there were still marriage ceremonies at the Cathedral St. Peter. Therefore, Margriet team should have to prepare the decor for them too. And this was some of the pictures we documented.

Some of the materials used are golden heliconia, cigar flowers, roses of Mohana, and peacock.
